Not a great start to the day....

A travel blog entry by sanditravel on Aug 03, 2014

Up and 0500 hours to a dry morning, thankfully.

BUT, had to make a quick trip to the emergency room at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Nothing life-threatening, thankfully.

Didn't get on the road by 0600 hours, so we juggled our route from the "scenic" ...

We were surprised at how little snow there was in central Maine but there is a lot of snow here in northern Maine. There was a real absence of big trucks on the road, instead we saw snowmobiles being towed to ...

We left our still favorite place in Maine - Camden, and drove up Route 1 through Lincolnville, Northport and Belfast. The views along the road were still pretty in spite of the fog. We took 1A away from the shore to Bangor for a mail pick-up. We were disappointed that Bangor did not seem to have a tourist area along its waterfront and decided to go further up the road. From there we took I 95 up and stopped at the scenic view ...
