Great little campsite. Stayed there in May 09, camp site staff we encountered were all young students who were really nice. There was a little shop that sold snacks and various items too which was useful if a little expensive. We got there around sunset so we didn't get a chance to fully appreciate the scale of the trees until morning, when we got out of our tent as were nearly bowled over at what we saw.

Great for families and solo/small group travellers either passing through or wanting to stay n explore the area. Nearby Pfeiffer Beach is a gem too, if you can find it. Bring money for the carpark, a few bucks should suffice

OCTOBER 18, DAY 33 BIG SUR

So as we mentioned in an earlier blog, we decided that we would head back to L.A. traveling highway 1 (we were going to only take highway 1 on the way up because I (Krista) have real fear of immense terrifying cliffs/heights). We really wanted to stay in the Big Sur and as Carson still needs to get back to Pismo …

We …

Got to Pfieffer Big Sur State Park and got checked in. It is a beautiful drive back to where our campsite was. You travel through an area that is thick with the redwoods and so lovely. Our campsite was very near the ablution area and we did not have anyone on either side of us.

We talked to the people across from us because they had a Habitat, King Dome and Base Camp set up. Found out they were a group ...

Whilst in Carmel earlier, we had phoned ahead to book a room at the Gorda Springs Resort – another $150 per night plus tax! The people running the place are pure misery.

When we checked in to Room A the guy couldn’t even raise a smile so when we asked him what the wifi password was and he said it was "HaveaGoodDay" we couldn’t help but smirk.

We went into the bar to ...
