... our favorite shops include: Tiger Lily's, Lundrigan's, Jenny & Company, and Christmas Point.

We shopped, enjoyed some lunch at the Village Square Cafe, and then shopped some more. Tom biked down, met us for lunch, and shopped for awhile with me before biking back to Cass Lake.

We spent a cool, lazy evening around the cabin, reading and playing games.

... to move out of the boat’s path, but then continued to paddle frantically ahead of our boat, zig-zagging back and forth in front of us for about five minutes. The poor thing looked panicked and tired, but she just wouldn’t stop. Finally she took off flying low over the water. We think she was trying to lead us away from her babies…it was interesting, and quite entertaining. (We hope she eventually made it back to those babies!) Back at the resort, ...

Lazy, Hazy (very hazy)...days of summer

We woke up this morning to find a haze over the lake. This haze started around Tuesday, and seems to be getting a bit thicker each day. The cause? Forest fires up north in Saskatchewan. This haze is really unusual, making the sunset look like an orange ball in the sky, and the moon a dark red.  Tom, Seth & I decided to ...

... lost them. Within minutes, I had a very nice tug, and could tell this catch was not a pan fish. Tom got the net and landed my first (and probably last) walleye of the year. It was a nice-sized one too (17 inches), and a great way to end our morning.

The weather was beautiful for another afternoon of kayaking (Linda & Deb), biking (Tom), golfing (Mom & Dad), and lazing around the resort (the kids). By early evening, Tom, ...

Walkin' in Walker, Fishin' in Cass

A travel blog entry by lindaonthego on Jul 09, 2013

The weatherman was right. The forecast called for rain, and when we woke up it was cloudy with an occasional drop. We ladies always use the "rainy vacation day" as our excuse to head to Walker, Minnesota (1/2 hour South of our resort) to do a little shopping. So we hopped in our cars and off we went! Deb, Melissa and Kara rode in Deb's car, and Mom, Chloe, Leah & I rode in mine.

Since we left by about 10:00, we ...
