Windy Wednesday

A travel blog entry by lindaonthego

The weather this week hasn't been as cooperative as last week. We woke this morning to cool temperatures, more wind, and lots of white caps. We decided to put off fishing in favor of reading our books, hanging out by the lodge (to use the internet for facebooking and blogging), and sitting in the sun, which was warm despite the wind. Tom also took another bike ride around Pike Bay to try out his new tires.

Hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to the winery we go!

After another lazy morning, we finally headed out for some fishing by about 10:30. It was cool and cloudy (a change from our weather last week). By evening a storm had rolled in so many of us headed for the lodge for internet time, games, and popcorn. After the storm, we all enjoyed another annual tradition...the rainbow sighting. It wouldn't be summer at Cass Lake without a ...

Cousins' Week

A travel blog entry by lindaonthego

Today was "in-between" day. Our "just us" family week has ended, and today "cousins' week" begins. The day started out gloomy and overcast--our first day like this all week. However, the sun soon came out, the waves calmed down, and it looked like some good fishing weather. Tom took Leah & Seth out to Potato Islands, and they ended up coming back with 10 rock bass. While they were gone, I did our first week's laundry while sitting in the lodge working on ...
