This site is not as nice as Mathews Arm just up the road. Sites not as private and smaller and not as nice. Would recommend staying at Mathews Arm if you are deciding!

A well kept campground with full time mowing crews AKA Rabbits. Also great walk in camp sites to a real camping experience.

This park was well-used and tired. We had to try two sites to get something level enough so we could even camp. Quiet and peaceful and several short hikes nearby, by car. I'd stay there again, just because the drive through the park is so beautiful.

We have entered what I like to call "the shin". This national park is gigantic. The land was originally owned by over 49 private land owners, now spread with hiking trails, parks and Skyline Drive with about 50 beautiful overlooks into the Appalachian Mountains. The area changes a bit demographically as in, the people are country…talk a …

Chris suggested we could stay another day while I rest but I was keen to keep to schedule and was feeling a little better after throwing up. So we soldiered on. Zach got to watch a lot of iPad that day while I slept in the back assisting Chris to navigate when I could. It was a long drive on the interstate system and we heading to Front Royal a …

... br> We got as far as Harrisonburg, Virginia where we found a nice little KOA cabin to take shelter in. Now, apparently this KOA was special because not only was there a great place to eat near by, but they actually did deliveries to the KOA! Once we found this out we took the chance to have a nice hot meal brought to our door. And no regrets were had that night.

... and 1 was from Ontario. We went into Wal-Mart to pick up some supplies and when we came back to our van they were all standing outside talking. Chris said Bonjour and we had a nice little conversation with them. They were 3 couples making their way down to Florida together. They had the huge bus campervans with their cars pulled behind them. Maybe one day Chris and I will upgrade to something like that but for now our Westy is our happy little ...
