Being amongst the redwoods is amazingly cool and serene after the intense exposure on the the coast. It's difficult to show how huge these trees are. Some are two thousand years old and 100m high and 20m round the base. Amongst them grow Douglas Fir and Tan Oak. Redwoods are able to survive fire, some smoulder for 14months and ...

Well our journey still continues, so much for getting home early for Sarah. We left Fairbanks to Seattle, overnight expecting to get to Vancouver but the flight was cancelled. We have just got into San Francisco with a 6'hour layover, then Sydney, two hour layover then finally Brisbane to Sarah and Linda. Only 55hrs and still 16 hrs from Brisbane grrrrr! My beautiful angel of a niece is doing well, and her 'new parts' as she calls them are doing well. Thanks for for all your prayers Robntrish ...

... again, then they have the power of magic in their hands .

I can say this with all conviction. For you see, for one day, just one day, on a wet and misty day in Seville, I was part of their Odyssey. And I partook of the magic.

As they go back home and open the doors of their house, I have no doubt they will have a swirl of emotion. Joy at having done what they had always wanted to do. Satisfaction at having done it so ...
