Happy 4th of July!

We had a great time at Pensacola Beach! We got there at 9:45am and stayed until 3pm and even with a easy up shade, rash guard wearing and 3+ sunscreen applications we all got sunburn! But it was great, the sand was white, the water was clear and great temp, good/calm conditions and everyone could walk out a ways without it being too deep. We ...

Almost 700 miles driven today! From 5:30am to 8:30pm and we did it! Overall it was great and not as hard as we thought it might be. The first part was pretty smooth except an accident in the beltway in Houston. We stopped for lunch at 11:30am in lake Charles, Louisiana at a nice shady park which had clean bathrooms and picnic tables. We had a nice picnic lunch and the kids played then back on ...

... airport. Our flight was supposed to leave at 9pm, but the storms delayed that by about 2 hours. We were so exhausted, but tried not to sleep...to no avail. Our bodies were on Madrid time so that 11pm was really 5am!!! We finally got home after midnight and it was hard to settle down, but we eventually did.

Our girls trip to Europe was amazingly wonderful ...

... got cheese, and covered with spicy enchilada sauce and mozzarella. These were also delicious, but not as different as the Soul Rolls were, so less interesting. At any rate, I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in Pensacola.

Tomorrow, we head back to the west. We'll travel down the barrier islands through Alabama and Mississippi, visiting two more forts along the way.
