When we got up this morning in Grants Pass, it was snowing
to beat the storm. We were glad that we made the extra effort to get through the mountains to reach Grants on Thursday night or we really could have been in trouble on Friday

... greeted by fog when we entered the state of Oregon but by the time we reached Medford the fog had made its appearance but then it was gone by the time we got to the Rogue River area which I really like, returning again through Grants Pass area. Happy to be done the hills. The Siskiyous crosses at the highest elevation for I5 (4310 ft.) ... seems it would be higher down south in California at El Tejon Pass ...

... good thing I was on the driver's side or it would've knocked my block off! The first giant redwood tree! I made Chuck pull over as soon as the road allowed so I could sprint back to get a shot of it. It dwarfed the next passing car. I wanted to get closer to touch it, my I was coaxed back into the van.
