Just a bit noisy

The site is in the middle of town, so it was very convenient for walking to all the various destinations. The people were very friendly, and the facilities were clean and adequate. Our vehicle opens at the back so they were very accommodating about finding us the right site. Lots of smaller RV's seemed to be staying there so the unisex bathroom usage was quite busy. I just didn't sleep for the 2 nights that we stayed there because the noise of the traffic seemed to go on for a large part of the night... Powerful engine noise. Don't kow if it was just one particular vehicle going around and round, on that particular night, or if big engines are the general mode of transport, and cruising over the weekend a normal pastime! I don't think that the other RV sites would have been any better noise-wise as they are all in the centre of this gorgeous and historic little town.

Another day of rain so it was quite difficult to get any enthusiasm to get out of bed. The whole town was covered in cloud so we couldn't see what the place was like. The cloud came and went all day giving us glimpses of different parts at different times. We haven’t been able to see the whole town at once. It got close later this afternoon …

What a dismal night and a dismal day that we woke up to. It had rained quite heavily all night so we were quite happy to leave Seward. We are now in Valdez and it is raining here but it is not so heavy. Jenny has gone for a walk in it, with her raincoat on, so it can't be too bad.

Everyday we think we have seen the best sights that nature …

Valdez Sunday: The morning was a slow start with a big lie in bed. The weather had improved slightly to light showers and lots of fog. So we decided to just take a walk about the town, we started at the Marina which is directly in front of the RV Park. We watched them take a boat out of the water using a big mobile Crane thingy. Interesting. I …

Valdez Saturday : Well its been a busy few days. We left Beautiful Homer and drove to Seward. Another beautiful Oceanside town. But weather was against us this time. We had about 30 minutes after we arrived before the rain came down and stayed down. Non stop. The drive from the Highway between huge mountains into the town was stunning. Once we set …

A beautiful drive from Palmer to Valdez along the Glenn and Ric******* highways. It was a rainy cold drive where we hit a low of 41 degrees as we passed through mountains nicknamed "little Switzerland". We drove by Horse tail and Vernal Falls and by a glacier cave over the river. We were lucky to get a campsite on the shore of the harbor entrance …
