Nita had a conference call this morning and was concerned the call would be dropped so we left around 10:45 with eta of 4:05. There was a lot of traffic but it flowed very well so we managed to shave off 1/2 hour again and arrived at 3:35. Nita worked all the time while I listened to some music and cursed the other drivers ;-)

Finally we cross the state line and enter California. We stop off to visit Lake Tahoe. Its ever so nice. Pristine emerald and blue water surrounded by pine trees. What a beautiful place.
These mountain roads are something else, with scenery that is just breathtaking. We dont get into Redding till after 7pm, and find this really nice RV park off the highway and out of town. Doesnt take long to set up the tent, while Gerry is already set up with her camper van.

The temperature had dropped some but it ...

All of my gear smells like smoke. You notice it when you are out of the main smoke cloud. After a shop does some work for me tomorrow morning I will then head towards home. At least I will go generally eastward.

... not a good combo for me but Robin was very chilled and enjoying every minute...

We stopped at a view point but mist and snow blurred the vista although now it was now more like sleet... and certainly was no longer laying ..obviously the temperature was rising thank goodness.. the road then descended quite quickly into a really cute village called Willow Creek..where Bigfoot has been seen many times..so there is a museum dedicated to him which was closed for winter ..shame.. ...
