    ... quite happy about the rain as they desperately needed it. Even the mountain top received a fresh coat of snow!

    Redding is a city of about 85,000 people. Hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation are the main attractions here in Redding. We spent Monday afternoon checking out the city.     Our drive on Saturday February 28th took us through Sacramento into the Sacramento Valley. It's pretty similar to the San Joaquin Valley we drove through on Friday. It's much greener so I presume they get more rain here!

    ... In-N-Out yesterday but ended up feeling nauseous on the way there and almost got sick right outside the restaurant. I decided I should settle my stomach with a lighter meal. Today I ordered what I always get at In-N-Out, the classic burger and fries. The fries are not frozen but are actually made in house. The potatoes are cut and deep-fried in front of you.     ... service. Dennis changed the battery and we hope that is all taken care of. Better here than in the middle of no where.
    All of my gear smells like smoke. You notice it when you are out of the main smoke cloud. After a shop does some work for me tomorrow morning I will then head towards home. At least I will go generally eastward.
