From the campground we walked to the beach. It amazed me that we could be in pines with a river behind our camp spot and then a couple minute walk be on the beach. I had never been anywhere like that before and I was in awe. The dogs also LOVED the beach! It was fun to watch them run and play. The next day Bess and Terry took us on a tour of the area. We went to the town of Yachats and ate lunch over looking the ...

The most photographed lighthouse in Oregon, Heceta Head, was shrouded with a black protective cover because it was being painted—just our luck. There weren’t too many in the cave when we were there because they were all outside on some rocks. The video we watched with the information said that they spend most of the fall and winter months in ...

The skunks came up the board, went to eat the tuna and dropped into the water. When Brandon had a captive,he could get it off the property. They managed to get rid of all but one skunk from the house, which was spraying a shocking odour throughout. They finally located the skunk in the home and shot it!

Friday, June 12th Jesse Honeyman State Park near Florence, Oregon After saying goodbyes to Rory and her family Wednesday morning, and attending to some truck maintenance, we headed up northwest of Sacramento, up the Cache Canyon valley in Yolo county.  Golden hills, green trees, farms and on up into the hills.  Connected with Route 101 and continued on to Humbolt State Park, where the biggest Redwoods are.  We camped right in ...
