“Great Campsite”
Good location just out of town. Sites right on the water front are beautiful and the free wifi is awesome for New Zealand.

“Nice Spot”
Free WIFI, nice cabin with all required amenities. Beach front but a bit out of main areas. Nice and quite.

“The cutest camp”
Booked in for two days on sight. The amenaties are good, enough showers, toilets etc, cute little cabins. The amenities area which houses the kitchen, laundry and proch-like dining area is quaint in the stylish way. Everything not cream is painted a cerulean blue and white which looks fresh and clean. Lovely touch is the herb garden with the invitation to pick.

“Awesome!”
Everything one needs - a great view of the beach, neat kitchen, gas bbq, adequate TV room, on a coastal walking trail, AND free wi-fi! Service could be better as one guy working at reception was rather abrupt and didn't proactively greet his guests in passing. But this wasn't enough to affect the experience. Highly recommended and we would definitely go back.

“Great holiday park”
clean, tidy, beautiful setting. Of all the campsites weve visited, this one I didn't want to leave. Friendly staff.

Campervaning
We check out of the hostel and get a bus to the airport. From the airport we get a shuttle bus to Happy Campers depot. As we haven't actually booked a van there's not one ready for us so the bloke in the office offers me his car to drive to pick up some shopping. That's fine apart from his car is a New Zealand automatic! It takes a while to figure …
Touchdown NZ!
After arriving very early in the morning in Auckland, very very overexcited we headed straight up to the Bay of Islands in Northland (North East Coast).
Having seen the pictures of stunning crystal blue waters, beautiful little coves and lots of wildlife we were really looking forward to our first swim in the sea since the start of our …
Bay of Islands
Wednesday looked like it might be a bit of a disappointment, the weather forecast meant it probably wouldn't be possible to get out into the Bay of Islands but at 8am we got the call that the weather had come good and we crawled out of bed and headed down to the marina. We got onto one of the smaller ships, the Corina, a Catamaran with about a …
Alone in Northland
Last night we slept on the beach
(literally) at a DOC (Department of Conservation) campsite – which
is completely basic: no running water, no flushing toilets, but
excellent scenery. We did great though – Mike fired up the burners
and we had ramen!! WHOOAAA!! It tasted great. Comfort food and
campervans seem to …
To the North
2 March: We managed to get the bulk of the house painted in two days before taking off up North. Grant, the windsurfing ex hippie, yachtie - granddad - painter, had done some of the front while we were down in the Bay but needed me around to do the high ladder work. We left him to finish off bits and made our way out to the airport to hire a camper …
