This 3 hour drive was right back over the Rockies. There was a threat of snow in the forecast but we didn't see anything. Further north and higher elevation received all that white stuff, thank God!!

We made a detour to Barstow in California so that the BAT could have new front tires fitted - the existing ones barely met the legal limit. We found a reasonable campsite at Newberry Springs for our overnight stay. Barstow has a huge railyard, both the BNSF and the Union Pacific lines go into Barstow, so Cliff was more than happy to sit watching the ...

A nice sleep in this morning before checking out at about 9.30. ... We fixed sandwiches on the camper for lunch while Daddy filled up the gas tank but he finished first. Apparently our fellow gas consumers were impatient for access to our pump, so Ted obliged bu pulling the camper to the other side of the lot. Those of us still in the campers putting squeeze jelly on bread would have preferred a heads up, though. Oh well, the boys had probably already heard that language on the bus anyway.
