... it was the flip of the coin to see who ate first. Maureen won and we put her dinner on first, it didn't take long till I put mine on afters. Next time we will get the same flavours so at least we could have dinner together and she chose a better flavour than me. She stuck to what she knew whilst I tried to be adventurous. ... friend. Back to pick up girls who had great time and also enjoyed great views. Head back and after hotbtub go to Splash cafe to try award winning chowder in sour bread base washed down with bottle of Newcastle brown. Also tried corn dog and left most of it!! ... beach/park there, or maybe there was a road leading to something more..we were feeling a bit of a time crunch to get to Hearst Castle, so we just kept driving. We of course stopped at the Bixby Bridge look-off - famous for car ads...lol. The drive reminded me a lot of the Cape Breton Highlands, except brown and cactus-y instead of green and pine-y. And the water is that gorgeous blue, well, not Caribbean blue, but def not Nova Scotia ...

Interestingly, the babies are fed till they are fat and happy, then mom goes out to sea never to return. Eventually the kids get hungry enough to head out on their own in search of food.
