... lot of Eucalyptus trees. A lot. Jacaranda trees too. Today, it was, in the words of Evan, gum tree madness. We really hadn't expected that. They were everywhere. We took the El Capitan State Beach exit and had a brief stop there. It was a nice but very rocky beach. No swimming, just paddling. The water still felt quite nice. We're staying at the Apple Farm Hotel. A cute little inn on the corner of town. Clearly it has to be a great spot when you are greeted with choc chip cookies and are invited to free wine tasting. Also, we have a fireplace in our room... Nice! We headed downtown to see what makes it the happiest place and were recommended to check out the Farmer's Market. The town really is a nice place. Last fall we volunteered at an Oregon State Park campground. The park was swept clean each and every morning, mostly by a troupe of volunteers. A full hookup site (water, electricity, sewer) was $24 a night in contrast to Morro Bay's $50 which includes water and electricity only.
