This park was well set up and had everything we needed. the town has a terrible shortage of water, but we could fill up the tank for 20c for 40 lt which was very reasonable. the office were very helpful and recommended the tour.

One of the few places we've stayed where we really didn't like the vibe. This park is full of rules and warnings and proclamations by "order of THE MANAGEMENT". It's a bit like living under a Nazi regime. Despite a new, modern amenities block (in which you pay for every drop of water), the park is unloved - like the town it is in. Not a happy place.

Think we got this one at the wrong time of the year. Other than the playground the pool and most of the facilities were under construction and closed down. Due to lack of water, the showers are coin operated which was a bit of a pain. The facilities were clean and tidy and no doubt once the construction is finished it will be very nice.

Some under cover parking spots, however if it rains it is only under shade mesh and the water drops through. Facilities, camp kitchen etc. were fantastic.

We stayed in July, a very busy time.
The owner checked us in & told us to choose a site. All sites are close to the amenities block, whick is large & fairly new. Had to pay $3 for a shower, but that is the case at every caravan park in town. The onsite pizza bar is great . Would definatley stay here again, & have alreay recommended it to others.

We spent 5 nights in Stuart Range caravan park. Apparently they are making changes to the main area in their park and they are currently using their "overflow" area for their current visitors. Well, they pack them in like sardines here! Some poor campers in caravans couldn't even put their awnings out because the traveler next to them was that close! The amenities were ok, 3 toilets and 3 showers (for the ladies) but one toilet and one shower was closed. One toilet was blocked so one toilet and two showers to cater for all those travellers. Not good enough - especially at $30 night with no water and you had to pay for a 3 minute shower. I have to say we were disappointed!

We were on the road really early this morning to try to get to Coober Pedy in one stint. The changes of the landscape were amazing. It reflected the outback shown in all the pictures and roadshows. Along the Stuart Highway there were many out stations where cattle and sheep roam free. A driving hazard!! The road was scattered with carcasses of cows …

We drive into Coober Pedy and see all the mounds of dirt taken out of the opal mines and dumped on their site as they clear the inside of the mine looking for the opal. Each mine has a shaft and considered dangerous to go outside the suggested areas at the info centre. It is the opal capital of the world in the driest state in the driest capital of …

Spent a few days in Mintabie and Coober Pedy. Temperatures are warming up in this part of the world. Got to see inside a working mine, by sheer coincidence, the son of the general store in Mintabie took us through his mine. Scary, eerie, and definitely something we will not forget, especially the smell in the air of the recent use of explosives. …

Travelled from Port Augusta to Coober Pedy today, 750km. Thank god we stopped at Port Augusta. Two caravan parks on the way pretty dodgey. Went on dugout and mine tour, amazing how they build homes underground. Tried our hand at noodling but no luck. Weather bloody windy
