NT Tour 2014

We woke up this morning to the sound of rain. Not heavy, but a consistent shower. It's going to make the packing up fun!

You wouldn't believe it. The rain got heavier just as we collapsed the tent to fold it up. So over to the sheltered area with the tent and fly. A good shake to …

It was a lovely quiet night hearing only the sounds of the bush & cows moowing. We packed up camp & headed east towards Alice stopping at gorges on the way. First stop was Glen Helen gorge which was a short hike over rocks to a lovely pool of water. Next up was Ormiston Gorge which had a lovely cafe & we enjoyed a real coffee, YUM. The gorge was a …

Alice Springs

Much needed late start for us today. Max made us all French Toast which was really yummy. We then asked the kids what they wanted to do for the day and they chose the Reptile Park after we went to see the Standley Chasm. We drove back out along Larapinta drive and got to see the MacDonnell ranges without cloud. It was still …

Kings Canyon to Alice Springs (via the Mereenie Loop).

Woke early and had a really warm shower (very much needed after the cold showers of recent times). Just as we were packing up it started to spit. Rob and I were able to pack the beds away quickly so nothing got too wet however, it was only the beginning of the rain. It started slowly …

Today we walked the historical points of Alice Springs. We first visited the first hospital in the outback which the Man John Flynns was a doctor at, afterwards we went to the church which was next to the hospital, that John Flynns was the Minister of. Then I found out the he was the man on the $20 note. I also learnt that he was the man that …

Nice park but it was very wet and we didn't use all of the facilities as a result. Great showers and huge caravan sites. The camp kitchen was excellent and has extra fridge facilities if required.

We have had a great time here, using it as our base in Alice. The only complaint is the noisy school groups that we happened to be camping opposite.

High standard Big 4 park. Personal guidance to site, great amenities. Clean beyond expectations, quiet even with the Finke racers camped there. Very nice place to stay.
Signage on the highway could be improved, we missed it and ended up in town.

Very Expensive but the best in Alice Springs

    Reviewed Oct 18, 2011
by (6 reviews) , Australia Flag of Australia

All the caravan parks in Alice Springs are over priced but very ordinary. This one is even more over priced but is the best park in Alice. They really care for their grounds - they spend a lot of time looking after the grass so that every site has nice green grass and there are lots of trees and shrubs. And the pool is also very well maintained. It was cleaned every day including cleaning out the filters. But the ammenities blocks could use some work and considering the amount you have to pay they could provide shower curtains and paper towel!

    Best Park in N.T

Had heard lots of great things about the park, & it lived up to my expectations. Very clean & tidy park, With large amenities blocks close to most sites. Lots of hot water. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The dessert van located inside the park (winter months), was a real hit. I think nearly all campers, plus some from nearby parks, turned up here for dessert every night. Would definatley stay here again, & would recommend to others.
