I left my raincoat behind, so then we rang them, and they sent it to Sydney, and we got it. Thumbs up.

An expansive caravan park with many different types of accommodation. The park was in a natural bush environment with lots of shade. We had an ensuite site which had a huge shower and nice clean facilities. Staff were friendly and helpful, able to book our day trips from the reception area. My only criticism from a parents point of view, was the pool and playground were at opposite ends of the park, making it along walk from one thing to another for little kids. And some of the areas of the park looked a little "tired" like the place needed a bit of a tidy up.

Was somewhat disappointed in this accommodation as it presented well on the internet and is a Big 4 van site. We expected better. The worst nights sleep I have had, the fridge kept cutting in and out with a load clicking noise and running fairly noisily. The bottom of the fridge door was all rusted, did not look good at all. The room was fairly small but at least clean, the curtains had a tear in them. The air conditioner was very noisy, sounded like the bearings had gone in the motor so we turned it off.

A quick stop in Bowen to check out the town, and to pose for a photo in front of the big mango. Queensland really do the best 'big' things.

After checking in and setting up camp, the kids explored the latest Big 4 offerings. Not as much as Cairns, but still a water park, pools, and playgrounds were explored before an early bed.

Well I think the itchy bit is the most important. My goodness they get me no matter what I do. Every day there are new eruptions with weeping blisters so pleasant...not. I get so cranky with the itch, erkits just does not understand. I cannot sit outside in a coolish breeze of an afternoon as I get bitten so am trapped in the van from 3 or 4 at …

We thought we had achieved a near miracle by avoiding any sandfly bites whilst we have been at Airlie Beach - but, alas, that has proven not to be the case! The first sign was a slight itch, then a small lump, then the itch took hold, and the bite assumed the very unattractive pus headed lump that stay for days! Sandflies always put a little black …

Adelaide, road trip NT, Cairns and lots of sailing

So I didn't end up managing to upload the report in Auckland but when I got to Sydney instead. I arrived at the airport and got out by 8.30 pm – where am I gonna stay? I hadn’t actually put too much effort into finding somebody so I spent the night as followed: I was at Gloria Jean’s till they closed at 11, then at Macca’...
