... kit. It's now 13:52, we're lying on our beds in bath robes having had our first shower and first wash since Salida four days ago. It feels so good. We've just checked the weather and it looks good for the next week - very cold, but no rain, storms or snow which is what we were worried about as we're climbing to almost 12,000 feet! We're going to head for a pastry at a cafe down the road and then eat, drink and sleep at the hotel tonight. We feel like we've earnt it after the last four ...

We fared much better than a guy on a dirtbike who had wrecked coming down the pass, and broken his arm according to the authorities who had the road shut down and blocked ...

All good fun here. Now that we're in the Colorado mountains temperatures are much more pleasant. After Canyonlands NP (UT) & then Colorado NM (near Grand Junction) we thought we were over canyons but Black Canyon of the Gunnison was quite different - steep sided, hard black rock rather than ...

Ronnie: So I climbed a fourteener (a mountain over 14,000 ft elevation; there are 53 of them in CO with varying degrees of difficulty) today....Mt. Harvard located in the Sawatch Range of central Colorado. It was definitely hard, the last two hours consisting of hiking until the pounding in my head reached 130 beats per minute, then stopping to recover until the pounding was silenced, then repeating the process. 5 hours and 45 ...
