... it is lovely, quiet and full of 'more than a tourist' which basically means Australian school children truanting or backpackers! However it has a lovely caged off area where you can swim without the worry of being eaten by a whale, shark or stung by something that looks like a plastic bag but will kill you with just a touch! The water is actually freezing, but so very refreshing once you are in ...
Manly, Queensland, Australia maxandtrudy... Brisbane Colombian community seemed to be at the gig and were singing along , waving and clapping with great vigour. The lead figure was a tall woman with long dark hair wearing a long black dress. She had a large red velvet heart appliquéd on her chest , with a big crystal tear drop hanging over it, and a huge womb complete with foetus appliquéd over her belly. She bounced around the stage madly, playing electric guitar and singing, only pausing occasionally to encourage us to nurture ...
Deagon, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia jenandtony... Steve - you could feel the loss of him in the place. Guess they're big feet to fill. We all walked away saying we had a good day - expensive but good. Ethan's favourite was riding on the horse, Elijah's feeding the Elephants, mine watching the tiger show, Denzel loved feeding the kangaroos and the crocs, and Jeremy liked the snakes and tigers... just watching the kids have a good time and enjoy it. Pity we don't live closer to make use of the return as much as you want.<br>
Beerburrum, Queensland, Australia drownsroundausOur journey started at 6pm on Wednesday, and we arrived at our hostel at 1pm friday. The plane was fun, we all had our own TV sceen, plenty of food and drinks, and Nytol worked a treat and I slept through both flights! We stopped at Singapore airport which was lusssh ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia nballingall... could not land and instead we were diverted further north to Brisbane. So we took this as a sign that Byron Bay was a no go and fast forwarded our travels to the city of Brisbane. Brisbane is Australia's third largest city with a laid back sub-tropical climate but is somewhat in the shadow of Sydney's big city facade. We had a walk around the city but unfortunately the bad weather was catching us up so decided to keep our stay brief. The two main things on our list to do ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia mikeandpaula_09... sight...art galleries, musuems, cinemas, a man made beach pool, and beautiful flowering walkways strikes a flash of vivid purple throughout. We went into the gallery of modern art for a while and really enjoyed a Chinese culture art exhibition and swam around in the pool as a reward for our hard work. Tonight our friend Chris came and picked us up and took us to one of his friends gigs in the Valley. It was very different to what were into, metal music is very confusing to ...
Brisbane, Australia andyandkirstineSo sad, we are leaving in just under 4 hours. Actually we are ready to come home and have life return to normal for a short while. We've done a couple things in the last few days. Tried to climb a mountain, went to an animal santuary, checked out surfers paradise and then yesterday drove around Cleveland and some other little suburb. Lots of old people and lots of gigantic houses on little canals. All with large boats of course. Sorry Brent, I emailed Cliff's ...
Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia pacificoceanSomehow I've managed to get a fair few years under my belt without leaving the country (except to Fiji and New Zealand - big deal! - until now. Wanderlust, itchy feet, call it what you will but it has got me at last. Just wish I was a few years younger and less stressed about what might go wrong, rather than just believing in the thrill of the adventure like so ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia laurieslife... to go across to Mission Beach to the shops especially excited to go to Woolsworth how funny is that its a highlight as there no shops on the island and woolworths in Oz sell food aswell as everything else. Its suprising the things you miss and really need when you are stuck on an island and can t get to the shops. Going over to the mainland is always and adventure we get the water taxi which you practically have to wade through the sea too and the at the ...
