However we do only have another 35 odd thousand kilometers to travel so we all jumped in the car and made for our next stop. We ended up changing our itinerary slightly, as we had …

Airlie Beach! We finally made it!!! A day of comfortable driving, and the result was the stunning scenery as we drove down into Airlie Beach. We spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to find a cabin that we could park the boat alongside so we could get it packed for a few nights on the water. Everything was either booked out, or almost booked …

Sun 10th – Wed 14th May

We travelled from Mackay through sugar cane and more sugar cane to Proserpine and then out to Airlie Beach, the water was an amazing jade green colour as we made our way towards the town centre which was a hive of activity with backpackers. We started the new day by going down to the free …

Was somewhat disappointed in this accommodation as it presented well on the internet and is a Big 4 van site. We expected better. The worst nights sleep I have had, the fridge kept cutting in and out with a load clicking noise and running fairly noisily. The bottom of the fridge door was all rusted, did not look good at all. The room was fairly small but at least clean, the curtains had a tear in them. The air conditioner was very noisy, sounded like the bearings had gone in the motor so we turned it off.
