    It was double date night - Krista's brother wanted to go to a French restaurant so he could get Foie Gras (which is illegal in california). So, it was off to a French restaurant. Not exactly what I wanted, especially since I was about to spend 2 weeks in France.

    This morning we left San Antonio and headed northeast to Galveston. We arrived around 1:30pm at our camp site in Dickinson, just north of Galveston Island. We had a quick lunch and took the car and headed for Galveston. We walked around the downtown and found out that it was Mardi Gras here, the downtown was blocked off and there was a $17.00 fee to go in.     Today we spent the morning in Urgent care facilities for bee stings that Jack sustained on Tuesday evening. He now has two prescriptions to relieve the effects of the bee stings. Our next stop was in Galveston at the "Ocean Star" an offshore drilling rig & museum in the harbor. This was an actual drilling rig that was retired, and converted to a museum.     This morning we are headed for Louisiana on I-10, south on I-12 and then south on I-55 to "San Francisco Plantation" in Garyville, LA. After having a picnic lunch in the truck we toured the plantation. Due to lack of tourists we had a guide all to ourselves to satisfy our questions.
