... locally produced. We walked along the water, admiring the little fishing boats, all painted bright blue and yellow and green, each having a pair of eyes painted on the bow.
We made it back to the ship in plenty of time to dress for dinner. As we left the port after dark, the forts and walls were lit up. Simply magical.
Will try to send some pics with this.
Tomorrow a sea day. home Thursday.
I've just popped over to Malta for a day & a bit (as you do!) to say a quick hello / goodbye to my parents (and bring them lots of goodies over for the last time in a while).
The weather is a little warmer than the UK, but not as warm as it's going to be in a week's time (ha ha ha).
Anyway, I'll keep this blog short so ciao for now!

... fountains several times over, he ran out of time. Finally located the Avis office at 1.15pm to find it closed. Parked the car outside and thought about throwing the keys through the metal grid in the Avis internal parking area, but envisaged a resourceful person with a bit of wire……. so took them with him instead, and popped them in the post. He then headed off to the train station to catch the train to the ship, but while ...
Malta, Malta sewtersojourns... group. But it doesn’t help because I still can’t make out what she’s saying beneath her slushy pronunciation. After we walk out the cathedral we continue down a long street with shops, past street vendors, and then turn a sharp corner into a narrow sidewalk that leads to an outdoor seating area ringed with restaurants. Then we realize that Juma is missing. It is 1:45pm and I’m worried by 2:30pm the boat will ...
Valletta, Island of Malta, Malta hiwhthi... sofőr leszállítással fenyegetődzött. Szerintem Spanish people are not problematic, just noisy.
St Julians, Malta viskiki... 45 mins swimming, doing aqua lessons and splashing around. Then back under the umbrella, we sunbathed and the headed to the beach kiosk for some lunch. R had burger and I had hot dog and then R had some fruit salad. Then we spent some more time lazying around, sunbathing and watching all the people swimming. I even bought us ice cream at one point. We got back to the hotel from the beach at around 5:45pm. Then after the customary shower, we ...
Mellieha, Malta omkar... around the world teaching each other card games, drinking cheap Russian beer and having a great Friday afternoon. We then decided to cook a big dinner and invite people that we had met throughout the day. The Italians were put to charge with the pasta and by the end of it we had a wonderful dinner. Hung out for a while more, drank more, invited more people, and got ready to go for our first night in Paceville (please again dont say Pace Ville, PaChaVilla, in a heavy Italian ...
Lija, Malta jkosmides... amounts of food! Mellieha bay is just beautiful, a really good spot and one that was highlighted in my trusty Lonely Planet guide book so I was very grateful for the opportunity to get a lift out there and spend the entire day there, not to mention being entertained by Svet's show. In typical Maltese fashion there were some technical difficulties that delayed the start of the show by a few hours (it is a live broadcast), however in another reflection of the Maltese people no ...
Mellieha, Malta andrew.galea... were simply spectacular, the highlight for me was wandering the steep sloping streets of the walled city, admiring the detail on the apartment blocks, and watching the people go about their everyday lives oblivious to the huge number of tourists. The September sun and heat was just what the doctor ordered after two months in Scotland, but at around 4pm it came a bit much for me and I decided to have a break in the air conditioned surrounds of the Sacra Infermeria, which was once ...
Valletta, Malta will... during WWII. I only went inside a couple but I was glad I did. The St John's Co-Cathedral is without doubt the most beautiful church I have been in and despite having to pay each time, I would visit again and again. Built in the centre of a newly founded capital after the Great Siege of 1565, in which much of the island was laid to ...
