Everything has greened up beautifully here in Texas, with all the spring showers. The wild flowers blanket the roadsides in blue, yellow, red and pink. We had a nice Easter, went to Brunch at the Alsace Hotel up the road. It was pretty darned good and I ate too much, of course. Naturally, I had to take a nap to help digest brunch. We spent the rest of the day with friends. The folks next to us had a large family gathering! And I do mean ...

The evening was a spectacular spot to round off a big Texas ...

Quick bagel and shower and then some of us got the bus back into San Antonio for more exploring. We wandered around the river area and a shopping mall alongside it, however most of it was closed so we headed in the direction of the steakhouse we had booked the evening before. Craving a good steak in Texas we had done some research and found the Texas land and cattle steak house. I ordered the steak and ribs with broccoli and mac and ...

... against Spanish rule. To tell you the truth we have asked several people about this piece of history and even they get a bit confused telling it. The king of the wild frontier, Davie Crockett lost his life in the battle of the Alamo.
San Antonio is a lovely city. They have very cleverly diverted the Alamo to form The Riverwalk, it's basically a canal with shops and restaurants on either side that winds it's way through down town ...
