We are half way across America and except for State Parks, gas stations, grocery stores a couple of restaurants and a thousand interesting things whizzing past my window at 65 mph, we've seen nothing.

The extended Rhyne, Blyth, Simmons and Thomas family had all gathered at Carl and Joe's place a few minutes from our hotel in Austin to kick off the celebration of Sarah and Kiran's marriage. They had organized some killer barbecue meat and fixings that added to the sense that it was all worth while.

... shouting for help, eventually someone helped him to the other side of the road. Then the blind guy started yelling at everyone for not leaving their precious BBQ line to help a blind guy… I’d seen this guy pull the same act the day before on a different road and so I mentioned this to the guy in the line next to me.

His name was Jose, and he ended up buying my BBQ for me which was way nice of him. The BBQ was actually quite ...
