      ... them getting them stuck in between their toes. Marley screamed bloody murder when we removed them from his paw. Ended up putting the rain hood for our tent on the grass to protect them. Had to leave them tied up tonight.

      Couldn't drive to the tent site so we had to haul everything down to camping area. Not ...

      ... He said, " they keep talking about the chicken fried steak, they must not have it anymore"

      That's when we realized there was a whole menu page we hadn't seen.

      I got the steak. A plate full with mashed potatoes and green beans and topped with a luscious white gravy that gave each bite a kick of black pepper. Gary had a guacamole burger on a sour dough bun. It also was also fantastic, both dishes crafted by someone who knows good eats.

      ... first job as a park ranger and told us much more about the area than I am able to recount here. A very unique spot where we will spend three nights, at least.


      It's warmer, in the fifties today, so we hope that it won't freeze up our outdoor water hose. We will see. It's thirty-seven now at a bit after nine PM. I'll upload some pics with this since we have decent phone internet.

      ... to the track today - it was great, first thing that happened was hitching a lift with two freight guys on one of those buggy things to the other side of the track - cool way to start the day! No shade anywhere though and ended up feeling a bit sick, too much sun and a few too many drinks the night before. Qualifying was as expected with Vettel on pole.

      We're so glad we decided to make a stop in Austin! Even though it was a Monday night, 6th Street still had a lot going on.
