... we stop, a family with two screaming babies jump on board and where do they sit? Oh you guessed it, next to little megs at the back. Although I had no idea where I was to get off, I put in my headphones and hoped for the best. Now, I knew my hostel was on Washington avenue, so again, I was feeling cocky... "How big can one avenue be?"... Three miles to be precise. PANIC. But I knew my hostel was central, so when I saw half the bus get off, ...

... lights of Miami. I think we have found our new home.

We did not know this, but we are on the flight line for take off at the Miami airport. We love this as it brings back fond memories of being on the flight line at Malmstorm AFB in Montana. Love the sounds of the engines of the big planes at take off.

We will definitely be back here. Love Miami. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Next stop: Port of Miami, Serenity.

She used the seats to lie down and I could use the floor and a little bit of the middle seat to stretch my legs in a more comfortable position. I like when the planes are not full. And one more thing, while i remember, it's the first time I here them say; Feel free to use your electronic devices all through the flight, except phones that are not in flight ...

... the Disney ones I saw in April - they were magical - but they are pretty fancy), we realize our luck at being in Miami and on the beach for this day. The second the fireworks finish the skies open and it tips it down with rain, there's lightning and a torrential downpour, people are screaming and running off the beach, there are cattle 'mooing' jokes as everyone shuffles to get through the paths. We arrive on Ocean Drive ...

      Day 1b: Interstate ad Nauseum

... the time for 60 moh speed limits and occasional stop lights. Ah! Route 41. I traced it in my mind from the UP of Michigan, as it becomes Lake Shore Drive in my hometown, all the way down to the Everglades where it us called the Tamiami. Good old 41! After returning to the Interstate, we made a mistake booking a hotel too far away. We were approaching 24 hours on the road and the sun was getting lower and lower across the featureless, pecan-obsessed scab that it ...
