... the day was that David threw out the toll ticket that I had sitting in the console....hmmm not quite sure how and poor David as I huffed and puffed and said in no uncertain terms..."what the"?!! I was stressing a bit imagining our conversation and wondering if we would be charged extra or fined but all was good and the attendant looked up the price and took our word that we had left from Florence. Twenty one Euros later thank you very much! Looks like ...

We made it home for bourbon and Prosecco in the setting ...

Claire, Tony & I are heading back to London from Milan; Kate is continuing her 'Dolce Vita’ life and going to Sicily for a few weeks and Mike is off to Venice where he comes very close to George Clooney(!!)………..

Through immigration, bag collected and only an hour late, walking through the doors looking in the crowd for a familiar face. Gilberto is there waiting for me and soon we're heading north to his home in Bannio. Rather than go on the motorway, he takes the road around Lake Maggiore. It is beautiful; just like I remembered except this time the sun is out and there is no haze across ...
