When we reached the main square at the top of the high street dance music was blaring out and everyone was gathered around a stage it turned out to be a guy on an exercise bike doing some sort of exercise class with people in the crowd joining in. Towards the end of the tour, we walked through an interesting looking food market celebrating Romanian food, so after the tour finished, I went to check it out. I grabbed a beer from one of the stands and took a wander to take it all in. There were huge barbecues, covered in every meat imaginable, huge pots of stews and soups simmering away over open fires and more charcuterie, cheese and bread than it is possible ...

The original wooden structure was built in the 13th Century along with all of the other buildings in Brasov, as part of the outer fortification system.
