... it was much more interesting to see what was going on in the restaurant. It was the first time for both us trying Iranian. Some of the food was quite different. Then we went back to our hotel and we decided to go for a swim at the beach. That was lovely. It was a bit rocky getting into the ocean but the water was very warm and still and we bobbed around for a long time. There was a pontoon that we swam to a sat for ...

... After this we went dune bashing, which while a bit stomach churning will most likely be our most memorable. The 4x4 headed off into the sand dunes and proceeded to drive up and down, along the side, slide down or drive a long the top of some fairly large dunes. Today we plan to do odd jobs like go to the bank to sort out an account, pick up washing tablets and figure out the washing machine and probably go to the gym/for a swim as once again we have a cloudy day! I'm not complaining though as I know it will be really cold in the UK and I also know that soon it will be too hot!! :)

... Debinhams, Zara, TopShop, etc. How funny is that. We are looking to find something nice for my daughter but every jewelry shop we approach is selling items from France, Italy, Turkey, etc. It is rather hard to find something actually made here!

We find Ski Dubai and there are a few people riding the ski lift to the top and then we can barely see them returning down the slope. There is a man doing the penguin encounter show for a small group that ...

      ... among themselves.

      If nothing
else, this sort of excursion is a great way to meet other like minded
travelers. We got to chatting with a couple of English guys here on
holiday. Had a great time swapping travel stories of places we had been,
and places we want to see.

      Wasn't long before we
were back into the 4WDs and heading for the dunes. Now I know why it's
      called "dune bashing" - ...
