Historical Traveler Reviews of Luxe Manor Hong Kong

A stunning boutique hotel that is now my favourite HK hotel

from toandfromtheairport
A gorgeous little hotel well located just off Nathan Rd. The facilities and decor in the room are fantastic. I would always wake up in the morning with a smile on my face. Breakfast is good, particulaly the mango juice. Free wireless internet. The rooms are not large, but that is Hong Kong for you. The showers are a rainfall type wetroom - wonderful.

Cozy

from Tmug
It's a true boutique hotel. The decor is interesting and amusing. The wireless broadband worked very well (in every corner of the room) and it's free! Professional staff. Very good food at the Aspasia restaurant (Italian) and quite popular for business lunch. Decent breakfast. The location is much more interesting when compared with Salisbury Road or Canton Road. Convenient. There's a 7-11 just a few steps away. Nearby restaurants choices range from cheap local fare to many international flavors. Check out their website for a number of ways to reach the hotel from the airport. It's just diagonally across the street from the Kimberly Hotel. 8-10 minutes walk to TST MTR Station. 5 minutes walk to Park Lane Shopping Boulevard on Nathan Road. I'm not going to talk about the room as I know others will rave about it and it's modern features. Elevator requires card key. All you have to do is wave it in front of the sensor and your floor number will light up! This place is great for travellers who seek something different than just the same old hotel room experience.

There's not much to complain about but just to be balanced, I have to say I am not a fan of shower curtains. I also had trouble changing channels on the TV system. It kept resetting itself whenever I press a channel number and the volume would become very loud. Must use the +/- buttons for changing channels.

"Themed" rooms and rooms with balcony will become available soon. The Luxe Manor is definitely worth another stay.

It's Certainly Different!

This review refers to the re-furbished hotel which has been open since Janurary.

The refurb has been carried out to a VERY high standard and incorperates lots of new technology.

The whole hotel used VOIP phones so you can take your cordless handset from your room anywhere in the hotel and still make and receive calls. There is also super fast broadband (free as well) and wireless access almost everywhere.

The TV system is flat panel and interactive just to top it off.

Great bathroom, heated mirrors limestone tiling and glass double shower with rain shower.

Very confortable bed, effective and quiet air con, well stocked mini bar and great service made this a great stay.

The decor IS very eclectic and there are bound to be some people who won't like it but I have to say I found it very interesting and added to the whole experience.

Great staff, good food... well reccommended.

I stay in Hong Kong several times a year on business and will defineitely be returning!

Have got some photos... will upload once i've transferred to the PC

Brand new designer hotel

from SixtyDays
The Luxe Manor only opened in late December 2006 so many of the reviews posted here will be referring to its predecessor and will not be relevant.

We stayed here for 3 nights over Chinese new year in February 2007. The room was small as is expected for Hong Kong, but overall quality of furnishings and design was excellent. The design is very eclectic and mixes East and West and new and old. It may not be to everyone's taste, but we liked it. We had a special deal of around HK$1,100 per night due to the recent opening of the hotel and what we got for this was great. Very clean rooms, comfortable though slightly smallish bed, very interesting communal spaces and excellent breakfast.

In terms of location, the hotel is well located for shopping and sights in TST, and with the MRT getting over to Hong Kong island is both quick and easy. I would recommend this as a great hotel for those who seek something different, something quirky and somewhere where the hotel itself adds to the destination.

1970's Era basement apartment

Like staying in your grandmothers furnished basement that has not been updated since 1971. Very depressing. Needs to be updated, refreshed and modernized. Checked in and checked out 15 minutes later...

Don't Expect Too Much

I am writing this review from The Portobello, the resturant on the 1st floor of the Knutsford Hotel. The Knutsford was recommended by a local travel agency to my assistant who had to book something last minute for me.

Impressions

Arrival: Hmm...the lobby is so small that it feels like a "boutique" hotel in San Francisco.

Check-In: Friendly front desk.

Room: Uh...why is it so small?!?! My own bedroom is bigger than the entire room plus the bathroom. Hmm...and I am even on the 13th floor (14th floor is the top floor). Wait, that sounds like a water pump...how am I going to sleep tonight?

Internet: Awesome! Wireless internet throughout the hotel!

Dinner: Fairly friendly staff serving fairly mediocre food.

I have been here for 3 hours and I am glad that my company is paying for my stay. I doubt I will spend my own money to stay here.

Great place to stay...

I chose Knutsford due to its location and availability and I was not disappointed. The rooms are large enough and the facilities are adequate. The only drawback is the lobby/reception area is a bit small so we had to stand while waiting for our ride going to the airport. Nonetheless, its money well spent when you stay at this hotel

Glad I chose this one

I chose the Knutsford Hotel for the location and the price.

The hotel has recently undergone a renovation and it's rooms are really nice, I found the rooms to be quite large too which is unusual in Hong Kong.

The staff were excellent - from the concierge, the front desk to the cleaning staff.

It's a lot smaller than many of the mega-hotels in the same area and the personal attention of the staff shows.

I'll definitely be staying there again.
