The hike to Ciudad Perdida (the Lost City) is notorious for being one of the toughest multi day hikes in South America. After arriving into the beach town of Santa Marta, we promptly booked the tour to the lost city and started preparing ourselves for a gruelling hike. I really thought I would be writing this blog entry at the end of it talking about how tough the hike was and how happy I was for it to be over. Although it was indeed a tough walk, ...

... group. One of the guys was 68! With only one tour guide this could make for an interesting trek... We finally arrived at our starting point, an hour drive from Santa Marta to the main road, then an hour drive through the jungle. We had a nice lunch before starting the walk around 2pm.

The next 5 days were incredible, we had an amazing group of people, from various countries such as Denmark, Holland, US, as well as 2 more Londoners. We ...

... longer than anticipated, people jump in and out of the van that your constantly wondering and hoping your on the right track. But sure enough, 3 hours later (was only meant to be one hour) we made it to the entrance of the National Park and we were on our way (entrance is 38,000 peso each). We walked from CaŅaveral where they drop you off to Cabo San Juan which was about two hours. Theres a few spots in between that you walk through like Arrecifes and La Piscina which had nice ...
