... t go to. We stopped at a restaurant on the Targus River waterfront , the Portugalia and had a light dinner. It was much the same as we had the first night. Meat cooked in olive oil with pickled carrots and cauliflower . It is actually very delicious. The dish was called Pica Pau.

It took us about an hour on a very crowded bus (standing room only) to get home. Note to self don’t travel by public transportation ...

If April was Turkey month, May was definitely Western Europe month. We spent the entire month in a pretty small geographic area, seeing pretty similar things in Belgium, France, Spain and Portugal. It was nice to not have to worry about drinking bad water, or crime, or people trying to sell us things constantly, but it wasn't particularly nice to have to deal with Western European prices. Good morning from Lisbon and it's also goodbye from Lisbon- I leave for Rome in two hours- more from there.
