We had 25 minutes before we had to return to the coach and although we believed that we knew our way out, in fact we became a little lost and had to ask a shop vendor, who fortunately understood, for directions for the exit via Gate 1. We then boarded the bus and returned to the ship. Later, the 'call to prayers' could be heard loudly on the ship from the mosques. It was quite a moving sound.

... Galata bridge we found a number of stalls selling Fish Sandwiches. Costing around $2.50, they are a piece of bread with salad and freshly cooked fish. We bought a lemon drink also but I wondered what the drink with gherkins in it was. Discovered it was not a drink but an assortment of vegetables in turnip juice that can be added to the sandwich.
