The mountains in Oman stretch all the way up and down the northern coast and as you will see from the photos are completely barren. There are no trees anywhere except for in the wadis and only then are they date palms. They were spectacular mountains to drive through with massive canyons, and interesting formations. We camped ...
Last Day
... there are quite a few Europeans in the touristy places, I think we must stick out like a sore thumb where we go, as we are the only Europeans there, so we get a lot of attention. We drove on to Barka, where there is a fort and had to drive round a few times looking for it. When I got out a man in a car stopped and asked if we were lost and what could he do for us. We were in a no-through road, so he had seen us go round and had driven ...
