Palitana is a site of pilgrimage for Jains; the temple complexes on top of the hill (only 3400 steps!) were the most peaceful place in India.

So I waited and waited at the bus station for the bus to Alang.  The entire crowd knew where i was headed and it took 1.5 hours for them to tell me that the bus wasn't due until 2pm!  Three hours away....  So I had a chai and went for lunch ...
