10 best places to visit in Florida, not necessarily in this order:
Disney World (No comment!)
As we left we were looking at the menacing clouds and noticed a rainbow in the sky – a fitting finale a sentimental Yvonne thought. A more cynical D thought it was only showing us where Disney’s crock of gold could be found! – Yvonne.stowe
Florida Keys and Key West (The stunningly beautiful overseas highway)
The kayaking was terrific and challenging with winds and tides to think about. The beauty and excellent weather never ended. – Jodieandandy
Sanibel and Captiva Islands (Shell collector’s dream)
Seashell collecting was top priority for our daughter on this holiday and Sanibel Island is known as one of the best places for seashells. – Tricia.sears
The Everglades (Largest National Park in the USA)
First stop was an airboat ride through the swamp. We chose Erv’s, near Everglades City, from the many options, and it was really fun. – Akmshain
Miami and Miami Beach (South beach, and all that!)
We just strolled along Ocean Drive checking out the scenery. Itīs pretty lively. – Kristenjohn
Kennedy Space Centre (Try to visit during a satellite launch)
The space shuttle launched just as we finished dinner and everyone rushed out to see it ascend into a perfectly clear sky.- 9lives
St. Augustine (Oldest continuously occupied European settlement in North America)
We spent the day looking around the old jail and the accompanying museum followed by a trip on a ‘tram’ (a vehicle with several open carriages on the back) around the town with a commentary about its history. – Yvonne.stowe
Pensacola Naval Air Museum (Considered the world’s best)
If you are an aircraft geek, this is a holy place, the aircraft there are the best preserved and restored , better than new! – Johnrandall
Palm Beach (Richest enclave in North America)
In Palm beach – where the real money is, we decided to be inconspicuous and hire a shiny red tandem, lots of fun, great way to see the sites – 8 miles in total, averaging what felt like 2 miles an hour! – Star-troupers
Panhandle Beaches (consistently rated as the country’s best)
We anchored on an island where we went for a walk and a look for shark’s teeth. – Jodieandandy
