OK... change of plans... so we were going to make our way through Chile to get to Santiago in time for our next flight on July 27th... However, after careful research, we realised that there´s actually pretty much bugger all between San Pedro and Santiago, AND that Chile is pretty expensive... so we went straight back out into Argentina... After a 20 hour bus ride, we finally made it to the lovely colonial city of Salta in Argentina´s North West. We immediately made for a wee cafe in the square and tried out some of their famous empanadas. As we´ve found (its at time been our staple diet!) empanadas are available everywhere, but each region seems to boast that there´s is the best....

Today we actually had a lay-in since we didn´t start until 5:30. Our way led us through more wnderful landscape to the border - where I unsuccessfully tried to post my boolivian postcards. What can >I say - they sell stamps, but there are hardly any postoffices. The borercrossing took a while since the argentinians are very political correct....
