farewell to our beloved Queenstown this morning, so we set off on our

So I'm back in Lake Tekapo (not literally in the lake mind, its far too cold for that!) working at a bar/grill/cafe called Mackenzie's for 2 months. Now its really easy to save in Tekapo because there is NOTHING to do, except for walking or reading or catching up on journals and blogs, as I'm doing now.

Day 22 - Wanaka to Glentanner

With the change to itinerary splitting what would have been a long drive from Milford Sound to Mount Cook, we had time this morning to visit Puzzling World - perhaps not the most exciting-sounding activity of the trip, but we were both keen to give it a go!

Helicopters & star-gazing

Today we left Twizel early so we could go to Mt Cook before heading to Lake Tekapo. It was a beautiful day with fabulous views of Mt Cook.

We ended up going on a helicopter flight with The Helicopter Line - a great trip that took us over the Southern Alps to the Franz Josef and Fox glaciers. It was amazing and worth the $399 price tag.

Leaving chilly Methven behind us we made the scenic drive to Lake Tekapo. The drive was incredible, as you twist and turn your way around the foot of the mountain the lake comes into view.
