Nu kom vi endelig afsted. Det har bestemt vaeret en lang tur, men det er det hele vaerd, naar man sidder paa det, der minder om verdens top i denne smukke bjergby med kringlede veje, klipper og bjerge og sol i krydderen! Vi bor paa det hyggeligse hotel i hele byen, er vi sikre paa. Her er saa dejlig en atmosfaere!

Day 2 – 22nd May 2009

We woke up fairly early today as we had to get to the airport for our final flight to Cuzco. Breakfast in the hotel was pretty nice, a buffet style of toast and pancakes and scrambled eggs and things. After receiving my Amazsonas refund and partying one last time in La Paz, it was time to catch up with the lads again in Cusco, Peru. I decided to repeat my trick of staying up all night before catching an early morning bus seeing as it had worked so well the last time, but it appears that that may have been a once off as sleep proved elusive on...

OK. Arguably the most important destination in Peru merited a certain amount of exploration in terms of cost and options. Of course, I'm talking about the one and only Macchu Picchu! After much shopping around, I came to the conclusion that the only way to get there without forking out in excess of $180 was to DIYBS (do it your bloody self). So...

We returned to Cusco on the fancier VistaDome where we were served some paltry pastries and some beverages. Cusco, wow. It has been well worth it coming at this time of the year. We feel more like a couple of tourists amongst everyday life in Cusco. Not tourist city completely living off loads of tourists and hardly any locals to see other than those trying to sell you something. Etter a ha slappet av forste nyttarsdag, var det tidlig pa an kl fire om morgenen den andre januar for a fly.
