My last full day in Paris wasn't actually spent in Paris. Going to Bayeux, I had perhaps the jerkiest train ride I have ever taken. I left for Normandy in the arvo. Expected to get some sleep on the train but it was so packed i could barely find a seat. Had to ask this big guy to move his jacket so i could sit. As i was taking my big bag off i broke off a button on my army jacket. I sensed a badness was about to happen. It was an omen. I thought about my meger sewing skills....

We took the train from Paris to Bayeux and are headed to the small town (nearby) called Planquery (Edith Piaf was raised there & her grave is there too). We stayed with Roel & Pia Klinkhammer at a B&B in this rural area. Roel is Dutch and runs guided tours of the D-day beaches. All of it was fantastic.
