... because of a little stank, we had nothing to worry about, the fishy smell was overpowering. It was a good thing that we went full because if we had not we would have more than likely spent a good chunk of change enjoying the fresh catches. Instead we headed back to the site for sunset, an early fire and leftover curry for dinner. The rest of the evening was spent crocheting and blogging.

... What? Not even an epic vista? We just covered 1500 feet of elevation and don't even get a scenic overlook? Lame. We finally found a sort of overlook, and rested there for a bit before continuing on. The hike was long (10 miles), the views were none, and the scenery did not change much. Saturday morning we made campground reservations for Crater Lake for Sunday and Monday nights. That part of the old road has the white line on the edge of the pavement, with no shoulder to the road as it twists and turns through the coastal range of mountains.
