We continued west after a few awesome days in Portland, and hit Canon Beach, Oregon. I don't know what exactly I was expecting, but Canon Beach was a wonderful surprise. As soon as we parked the car, we could hear and smell the ocean. I looked over at the huge childish grin on Jonas's face, and we trekked over the dunes to the beach.

... and got a table with a view and every thing was wonderful. So now I think I will retire in my four poster bed and hope the ghost visits someone else tonight. Pray for speedy healing for my ankle! I still haven't given up on my later-in-the-week hikes! And tonight, I am grateful for the little things.....Ibuprofen, ice, and a wonderful man who will help me walk and carry my luggage and in general put up with me.

At one point there was also a great rainbow created with the spray from the water. The wind continued until we were through the Cascade Range and approaching Portland.
