I suspect that the palace itself is not quite in original condition either, but it is still said to be one of the most imposing Roman ruins in existence. The tour guide was a very passionate & interesting Croatian, he very obviously loved his city. He was also very well versed on the history of ‘Split’ and of Europe, although he was probably a wee bit political, he spoke with a lot of humour. I don’t think we could have asked for a better guide…
