Battery Boy must confess that he erred in his planning when it came to arranging transport from Venice. Video Girl and Battery Boy were leaving Venice on a Sunday which meant the only car rental depots open were at the Marco Polo airport, an hour and a half away travelling by water bus.

... Cyprus trees which are a lot bigger than I imagined. The trunks are about 40cm in diameter. We continued on to Radda in Chianti, which is a lovely town, again built on the hills with majestic panoramas. We had one last day of the pasta fest! This morning we made tortellini, capelacci (little hats) and ravioli. We made 4 different stuffings and 4 different sauces. That was great and pretty easy once you have the pasta sheet making down. See how yellow the pasta is from the orange egg yolks? Another great but exhausting day at cooking school. We start in the market with Stefano, who runs the school. Then the morning making pasta and sauces. We made tagliatelle and gnocchi. We served the tagliatelle with bolognese (meat sauce) and the gnocchi with rabbit sauce. It was the best gnocchi we have ever had. And easy to make. I promise to make it for friends and family!! ... to school and we cooked from 4-8.. We made rabbit and chicken, eggplant parmigiana. Stefano who runs the school is quite a character and a great teacher. Boning a rabbit takes a lot of time and patience. I had never eaten rabbit before, of course it tastes like chicken but a little drier - no fat. Also deboned a chicken which was a little easier.
