... You have to climb down through a cave at the end. My parents are able to watch the sunset every single night of the summer at the lake, and actually prefer the sunrise that wakes them like clockwork from June to September. They may complain a little, but I know they enjoyed this adventure I took them on.

... until a nice group gave us an extra they had. We found 2 ampatheaters and there is a coliseum, these are at the far end of the city so we had a long jaunt after an already long day but it was worth it, we were among the last to leave, saying "the next time" we should get there first thing in the morning before the hordes arrive and the heat to do a proper exploration with the help of an audio guide.

Sorrento (Day 1)

After yesterday's dramas and combined with the alcohol consumption, both of us didn't sleep that well but we must put that behind us for the sake of this trip otherwise we might as well go home!!

Enjoyed our first breakfast in Sorrento overlooking the beautiful coastline and with Mt Vesuvius in the background. With advice from our wonderful hotel owner he helped us organise our next few days in Sorrento.

Plans for today is to visit Mt Vesuvius and Pompeii. Before ...

... we wore as souvenirs and the recipes so we can make these dishes at home. Hugs and kisses all around, and we walked 10 minutes - no, waddled - back to our hotel for a two hour nap.

Again no dinner as just too full. We do not know how Italians stay so thin when they eat like this every day!

Stopped off for a swim and then stopped off for another swim in the Green Grotto...you will see why it is named the Green Grotto in the photos!
