... We finished up the trail at very top of the waterfall. We couldn’t see the waterfall itself from here, but the views of the surrounding mountains were beautiful. Highway VA-56 was visible in the distance far below. We sat here for a few minutes enjoying the view and then started making our way back down. ... and turns out its illegal to pull into a rest stop in a national park! We're now on the national parks naughty list for the next 5 years! Ah he was sound enough, but gave us the "there's a lot of bad people out there" lecture. As a result when we did get to a truck stop en route to Charlottesville neither of us slept too well!! Thankfully no bad people bothered us and our first night on the road was still a success ...
