It took awhile to leave Airlie Beach after saying good-bye to our lovely neighbours and the parents of the friends the kids had made, luckily we were not going far and got to Blacks Beach in Mackay by lunchtime. Really lovely beach side spot and not too far from the main town of Mackay.

We went for a walk along the beach which had heaps of crabs and a couple of washed up jellyfish. That managed to get rid of a bit of energy ...

... gasped. It was like looking down the barrel of a glacier-gun. It probably was at some point. A flat valley with the meandering Cattle Creek and road likewise, framed by immense hills of gorgeous trees.
