It took about 2 hours to get down to Dover where we caught a P&O ferry for the P&O cruise to Calais. We were told to have our passports ready for the French authorities to board the coach and stamp, but no-one came on board, then they told the driver to go to customs checkpoint 4, which we did, but no-one was working there! ... my next favourite thing about France. Remembering the sacrifice that our Canadian soldiers gave during the battle to capture the ridge was amazing.
