Upon leaving Maine, we were treated to some of the most amazing color! New Hampshire is just a beautiful state. It is very hilly and has a few mountains! (which we have missed) It rained very hard the entire drive. We stopped at Grafton Notch State Park and went to see Screw Auger Falls. They were torrential with the pouring rain. ... They were built over corn stalks with round heads and hats. We saw all sorts of costumes including roaring 20’, the sixties, the 70s, etc., and outfits from different walks of life. A spokesperson for the village said, the kookier and brighter the outfit, the better. Villagers put these “leaf people” out at the autumn equinox and they attract visitors to the village.

... s not the music Woodstock) it used to be the Capital of Vermont before it was moved to Montpelier. It had a covered bridge which is a feature of this area of the country ( The bridges have a roof to protect them from the ice and snow.). The town has some very beautiful "clapboard" buildings and has a very old fashioned look. It probably costs a lot to live here because it looks a model heritage town. Vermont is almost completely covered in forest and they are all turning beautiful ...
