Day 14, Our visit with Louis was so enjoyable, but with the next day, came with the anticipation of being near our half-way destination of Eugene, OR – Kathy and Shawn’s home, and our pre-family reunion time there before the families start dribbling in, one-by-on. Got up and decided to walk the headlands in town. They are also very beautiful and there were several school groups walking around as well. There was also a group that were coming back from kayaking out in the bay. The wind was really blowing but they did not seem to get in there way. They had to carry all of the kayaks up a narrow path up to the headlands where we were walking! Whew!

We saw some seals but not as many as we had seen the day ...

... to an attached small bar next door. It appeared that the Mexican population of Fort Bragg were in that bar. Something that I had never considered is that we were moving closer to the Mexican boarder and the Spanish language had became more prominent. ... docks as we passed by them. They did not seem to be very interested in us. We had also seen otter briefly. One of the most interesting things we saw was an abandoned houseboat in the middle of the river. Not sure what happened to it but there were obviously belongings piled up outside the houseboat and it did look in disrepair and not in use.
