I've never been so happy to leave a hotel. This place was a DUMP.
We stopped by Point Reyes national park for some (more) good views, but mostly just enjoyed the scenery along route 1.
The dogs are doing well, as is the camper. We're happy Caspar is getting the help he needs, but sad to see him go.
We found a neat campsite with a beautiful ocean view (Caspar beach rv park), and settled for the night. Campfire w/ BBQ and beer. Life is good.
... as John (the fellow we hired to look after the place and get it ready for us) had done a great job. The house was nice and clean as well as the yard and lawn furniture. He had even pruned the bougainvillea! We got the car unpacked and a lot of stuff put away but have lots more to do tomorrow. Hi all, ok I am having fun in America but I do have to make a comment about the taps. We have stayed in about 6 or 7 places now and every single shower is a new adventure. Sometime the taps move up, some times down, the current one moves up and slides around. Seriously can they not make there minds up...sigh..at least we can normally work it out. Got to the end of the navigable part of the river and stopped and enjoyed watching a group of commorants sunning themselves in the trees above our head. We then headed back toward the dock and got to see a mother seal with her baby. She apparently was training it to "play deal" to protect itself from predators because it just hung in ...
... docks as we passed by them. They did not seem to be very interested in us. We had also seen otter briefly. One of the most interesting things we saw was an abandoned houseboat in the middle of the river. Not sure what happened to it but there were obviously belongings piled up outside the houseboat and it did look in disrepair and not in use.
