      ... of Door County. We went from one quaint seaside town to another. From Sturgeon Bay to Carlsville, Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, Ephraim, Sister Bay, Ellison Bay, and at the tip of the peninsula- Gill's Point. Robin and Steve were our personal tour guides.       ... the 'Door' part of it stuck. Wisconsin is quite proud of it's tragic maritime heritage. At each state park there is at least one informational display about a shipwreck off the coast, complete with details of the ship, how it met its end and photos of what wreckage still survives (complete with scuba divers).

      ... the late afternoon yesterday we stopped at Orchard State Beach and I got the full impact of Lake Michigan. I've got to say, I'm not sure I'm buying this 'lake' business. It's got waves, cliffs, beaches, storms, the works. I might be persuaded to call it an inland sea, but Lake? Nah. Way too impressive for a mere lake (see video if you need more evidence).
