Den Nachmittag ließ ich auf der Terrasse des Hostels mit einem guten Buch ausklingen. Morgen wird dann intensiv das Umland der Metropole Los Angeles erkundet. Das Stadtgebiet von LA ist so weitläufig, dass man gefühlte Ewigkeiten braucht, um aus diesem Moloch zu entfliehen. Wenn man bedenkt, dass LA um 1900 gerade einmal 40. 000 Einwohner hatte, dann wirken die 3,8 Millionen (aktuell, nur im reinen Stadtgebiet) nahezu gigantisch.

... 1 cab and that was when we arrived in New York, in LA cabs are the only viable way of getting around. This city is in love with the car. I still haven't got the hang of driving, I try and work out where the cabbie is going to go when driving in traffic but I get it wrong every time usually ending up on the wrong side of the road.

We did some shopping and then headed back to the hotel for pizza and bed.

... exertion we are a little parched, so we look for somewhere selling restorative wine. We find a place that specialises in Mozzarella and we have lots of Mozzarella based snacky bits and two big glasses of deliciousness.
