He had two ports available, one which was only a year old and much more fruity and one which had been bottled for ten years via the Solera process. The trail we did was only a short section of the total available, we did about 15k in total.

We ended up in a grove of giant cedars..

... boy car. There were a few swerves, yes, but it's a big change from Cornwall.
The sun had blasted us all day so we were really surprised when we got to Tofino to find a thick sea fog had closed in. This didn't stop us having a great evening settling into lovely Sandpiper House. We are so lucky to have a couple of weeks ahead of us.
More news when we see some whales!

We were going on a bear hunt!

It takes about an hour to get to the the shores where the bears come down to feed. On the way, magestic bald headed eagles just sat and watched us and the world go by.

Our first siting was the cause of much excitement, a 2 year old male down by the shore, turning over stones to find little crabs. And then there was another, and another. Five in total. They are not a socialable ...
